Frequently asked questions
How does the name and date-of-birth lookup work?
Vedic numerology reduces your full name and date of birth to a few single-digit personality and destiny numbers. Our upcoming numerology mode takes those digits and finds 4-digit registration numbers in today's pool whose digits add up to (or contain) your auspicious values — so you don't have to do the math yourself.
What is a fancy number?
A fancy number — also called a VIP number or lucky registration — is a non-sequential 4-digit vehicle registration like 9999, 0001, 7777, or 1234 that the buyer chooses instead of being allocated by the next-in-line system. Indian RTAs auction or list these separately, often at a premium fee.
How do I reserve a fancy number for my car or bike in India?
Each state's Transport Department or Parivahan portal handles applications. Fancy Number shows what's available today and what each number costs; the actual reservation and payment happen on the state portal during its daily application window.
Why are some numbers more expensive than others?
States classify certain numbers as 'special' — single digits like 1 or 9, repeating sequences like 9999 or 7777, palindromes like 1221, and other auspicious patterns — and charge a higher fee for them. Common numbers cost the base reservation fee. We display the exact fee on each number's row.
Which states are supported?
All 28 states and 8 union territories of India — Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and every other jurisdiction with an RTA, RTO, or Parivahan listing. Pick your state from the grid above to see today's pool.
How current is the data?
Each result reflects what's currently in the published pool — numbers reserved by other applicants drop out and new numbers come into the pool as states release them. If you don't see a match, try again later in the day or check back the next day with a freshly published pool.
Can I reserve a number directly through this site?
No. Fancy Number is a read-only search tool — we don't take payments and we aren't affiliated with any RTA. All reservations and fees are processed on official state Transport or Parivahan portals.
